Quality Preschool. Trustworthy Childcare.

At St. Joseph Child Development Center, we believe children develop into strong, independent, self-confident individuals when given the proper opportunities to stimulate their growth socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually. Children learn best by doing and by becoming active thinkers and experimenting through play. Through play, children have the chance to gain meaning from their environment. Our program offers quality preschool and trustworthy childcare. It is designed to help each child develop a strong sense of self worth. We provide your child a warm environment, filled with love, good physical care and an atmosphere for learning.

What we offer our CDC children:

  • Weekly enrichment classes (music, movement, science and art)
  • Care for children six weeks to pre-K
  • Low staff to child ratios
  • Long teacher tenure
  • Six on-campus playgrounds
  • On-campus garden
  • Kentucky ALL STARS accreditation
  • Early Childhood Education Standards-based curriculum in all classrooms
  • Full-time, year round care (Part-time care is available for pre-school classrooms ONLY when space allows)
  • An on-site chef**

St. Joe’s is proud to offer an elevated menu for kids including fresh ingredients, fruits, vegetables, and a healthy, balanced variety not found in most classrooms. Chef Finbar Kinsella is committed to providing creative, healthy meals for the children that uses little to no processed foods.

**The Chef accommodates special dietary needs or requests.

“When I think of our experience at St. Joes, two words come to mind: love and happiness. I drop my son off knowing that he is in the best place he could possibly be. It’s not home, but it feels that way to him. Chef Finbar is an added bonus; the food at St. Joes is so much better than anything I could ever cook myself!”

St. Joe’s Child Development Center (CDC) is a Kentucky ALL STARS recognized center with a 3 STAR rating. The CDC provides an environment that cultivates learning in young children. Teachers create weekly lesson plans based on Early Childhood Standards and the children’s individual interests and needs. These lesson plans guide the learning in the classroom, providing a framework around which the teachers can organize the learning environment and activities. Our director has 13 years of experience teaching Kindergarten in Kentucky’s public schools and is committed to Kindergarten readiness. This is evident in our focus on pre-literacy and pre-math skills in our pre-K classroom as well as extra evening parent workshops provided throughout the year on Kindergarten-readiness topics.

In addition to our daily classroom learning, St. Joe’s CDC also provides enrichment classes to our children. Our in-house enrichment program provides additional learning opportunities for all children toddler to preschool. Our toddler teachers get weekly visits from our Enrichment Teacher that focus on providing materials, modeling and consultation for the teachers to enhance their daily learning. Our 2-5 year old classrooms receive enrichment class 4 times a week. The 30-45 minute classes focus on art, music, movement and science, including an on-site gardening space that gives the children a miniature farm-to-table experience!
