BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES

Behavioral Health Services

At St. Joseph Children’s Home, keeping families together plays an important role in the work we do. The addition of our behavioral health services program will provide our St. Joe’s families and the community with the emotional support they need to flourish. Our services include mental health therapy, targeted case management, and comprehensive community support services.

Mental Health Therapy:  Individual and Family Therapy provided on an outpatient basis by licensed behavioral health professionals.

  • Therapists certified in trauma informed, evidenced based practices including Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF- CBT), Nurturing Parenting Program and other approaches.
  • Therapy services are designed to help the individual develop the knowledge, skills, and support necessary to manage mental health disorders, cultivate and sustain positive, meaningful relationships with peers, family members, and the community and develop self-efficacy.

Targeted Case Management:  Targeted Case Management services can be provided to a child with a serious emotional disability.  Targeted Case Management services may include:

  • Comprehensive assessment and reassessment of client needs to determine the need for medical, educational, social, or other services.
  • Development of an individualized plan of care.

Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS):  We provide the activities necessary to help an individual live with maximum independence in the community using skills training. Benefits of these activities include:

  • Improve self-monitoring and recognition of symptoms and side effects, including medication adherence.
  • Improve emotional regulation skills.
  • Improve crisis coping skills.
  • Develop and enhance interpersonal skills.
  • Identify natural support and social networks to cultivate and sustain a supportive community.

We accept insurance from Aetna Better Health of Kentucky, Passport/Molina Healthcare, United Healthcare, or Kentucky Medicaid, and Wellcare. For more information about the program, contact us at BHSOinfo@sjkids.org.
