“Every teacher our daughter had or encountered was kind, patient and loving. It seemed as though she knew everyone, and everyone knew her."
Amy Chavez talks about her daughter’s past experience with the St. Joe’s Child Development Center. Magnolia, age 6, will be starting first grade in the fall.
“We switched from our previous daycare at the height of the pandemic, and thus were not able to tour the building, or meet people before we made our decision. We loved the thorough, caring responses we received via email from the Director, April Manning and we had word-of-mouth recommendations. Magnolia’s teachers in the 2-year-old room were amazing. They made our daughter feel loved and safe from the beginning. Our experience only got better as the center underwent renovations to the playground and the building overall. Although the building is prettier and the playground is ideal, the people have remained our favorite part. Every teacher our daughter had or encountered was kind, patient and loving. It seemed as though she knew everyone, and everyone knew her. She felt like she was at home at St. Joe’s. Magnolia loved the block area, writing in her notebook, and making art. As parents, we loved the social emotional lessons as she learned to navigate the increasingly complex world of pre-k social situations. Her favorite thing about the playground in the summer was a pile of dirt that she made sure to roll around in. She got completely and blissfully dirty. We loved the time she spent at St. Joe’s and are glad to have found a center that aligns so well with our own parenting philosophies. We enrolled Oscar, our 1-year-old, into the CDC last fall and are excited to continue the journey with them.”
