Every child deserves safety and love. If you or someone you know suspects abuse, report it here.

You’ve decided you’d like to provide a home to a child. What’s next?

Step 1:

Schedule an Information Meeting.

Whether you’re ready to make a full commitment or you have further questions to better understand foster care and adoption in Kentucky, joining an information meeting requires no commitments and only an hour of your time. We will review requirements, the process, and answer any questions you have.

We offer two options for information meetings.

  1. Group information meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month at 5:45 p.m. at St. Joseph Children’s Home.
  2. We can set up a 1:1 meeting with you, virtual or in-person.

To RSVP for a Group Meeting or to set up your 1:1 Meeting, sign-up here.

Step 2:

Complete Your Training and Certifications.

Understanding the needs of your foster child(ren) plays an integral role in your success as a foster parent. As part of the process, we help you to complete 28 hours of pre-service training and CPR & First Aid training.

Step 3:

Welcome a Child into your Home.

After you have been paired with a foster child, the St. Joe’s Foster Care Team will continue supporting you.
