"Picnic is a chance for the community at large to see and learn about the value of St. Joseph Children’s Home and its contribution to our community."
Picnic 174 is coming, and in honor of its longstanding, rich history, we’re asking some of our loyal Picnic attendees to share their most cherished Picnic memory. Photo by Falls City Photography Best Picnic moment: The year about 70 years ago when I was 10. I went to the Picnic with my grandmother and my two aunts. They hung out with their friends at the beer and bratwurst booths the whole evening while I got to spend their money at the booths of my choice. Such fun! Another is the year – about six years ago – when I was the first winner of the day on the quilt wheel. I had the first choice of all the beautiful quilts that the Sewing Society made that year.
Why Picnic is special: Knowing that the funds raised on Picnic Day are being used wisely to give neglected and abandoned children a good home that they deserve. It is also a chance for the community at large to see and learn about the value of St. Joseph Children’s Home and its contribution to our community. Don’t miss this weekend of mega fun: live music, food (chicken dinner is back), games, and raffles. WHEN: August 11, 5-10 p.m. and August 12, 12 p.m. – midnight WHERE: On the St. Joe’s lawn – come ready to have a good time and support our #sjkids.
