“Early in my career I worked with at-risk populations including dual diagnosis and incarcerated individuals. Through my work with these individuals and my education, I quickly learned of the long-lasting impact of trauma and abuse. I felt that dedicating my career to children could be an impactful and significant way to give back. Culturally, I am very aware of the lack of mental health services for Hispanic families and the stigma associated with mental health care. I feel strongly about being part of the effort to decrease the stigma surrounding mental health care.”
