We are always looking for an extra helping hand! If you are interested in volunteering in one of our programs, you may contact Christina Miller at email@example.com or call (502) 893-0241, ext 279. To process your request in the most efficient way, please download the application packet.
It is procedure at St. Joseph Children’s Home that all volunteers age 55+ are enrolled in the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). There is no fee to participate. One of the benefits of being enrolled in this program is that you are provided insurance protection in case you are injured or injure someone else while performing volunteer duties. As such, please download the RSVP application packet and deliver it to the address indicated on the cover letter.
Print all of the pages, which include the application and background check permission forms. Fill them out and sign them. Then mail the forms or bring them to St. Joseph Children’s Home, 2823 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, KY 40206. We look forward to having your help in our mission of Giving Children a Home.
Here are some of the volunteer opportunities available at St. Joe’s:
Residential Volunteer – ages 18+
Spend time with the children who live at St. Joe’s! Volunteer opportunities include recreation & lunch during the school day, afternoon exercise, and evening activities of Arts & Crafts, Tutoring, Games/Movies, special events, and more!

Physical Plant Volunteer – ages 14+
We welcome volunteers who can complete physical plant projects, i.e. civic, business and school groups that are able to help us maintain our building and grounds.
Picnic Volunteer – All ages
Volunteers are needed at the annual St. Joseph Children’s Home Picnic held in August. Opportunities include working in raffle booths, and also to serve guests in the Fried Chicken Dining Room. Typically, volunteers work in shifts of several hours of time. Again this is the perfect time for students to earn service hours or for businesses to complete community service projects.
