Dr. Barry D. Walker
Executive Director and Director of Development
Barry WalkerBarry received his M.Ed from Xavier University; and Ed.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He has 37 years experience in setting administrative and personnel policies and procedures, long-range planning, development programs and establishing expense controls. Prior to entering the private sector, he was engaged extensively in fundraising for two private schools, and was responsible for making presentations to large and small groups, as well as working with individuals. He has earned an excellent working reputation based upon dedication, quality, timelessness and good personal relations. He is presently involved in the Capital Campaign, working with a 25 member Board of Trustees at St. Joseph Children’s Home. His wife, Dr. Karen C. Britt, is a U of L professor who specializes in Middle Eastern archeology. They moved to Louisville in 2006 with Sophie, their black lab.

Ms. Bobbi Mattingly
Director, Residential Treatment Program
Bobbi MattinglyBobbi received her B.A. form Spalding University and M.A. from the University of Louisville. Her love of children is demonstrated by her service in the field both in Indiana and Kentucky, including 9 years at Child Place in Indiana and 2 years with Child Protective Services in Kentucky.

Ms. Jennifer Helgeson
Director of Program Operations
Jennifer HelgesonJennifer received her MSSW from the Kent School at U of L, and her CSW through the State of Kentucky. She is also the Director of the Foster Care and Adoption Program and has worked at St. Joe’s since 1996. She and her husband, Dr. Rodney Helgeson, have three children, Tyler, Jacob and Conner. Jennifer helped to start the Foster Care and Adoption Program in 1996. The Program received the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s Angels in Adoption Award in 2004 for best practices in adoption.

Ms. Leanna Mays
Director, Child Development Center
Leanna MaysLeanna has been with St. Joseph Children’s Home since 1992. She earned her Child Development Associate degree in 2006 and has over 20 years experience in Early Childhood Education. As Director, she takes seriously her role in assuring that each child is provided the essentials during every stage of their early childhood development. The CDC participates in the STARS for KIDS NOW, a voluntary above-licensing quality assurance program operated by the Ky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.
