Residential Treatment Program
Residential Treatment Program
We provide stability and treatment for Kentucky’s most vulnerable children. The Residential Treatment program is licensed to serve 48 children (ages 6-15) who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. On average, St. Joe’s kids have lived in 12 different places (i.e., emergency shelters, foster homes, etc.) before arriving to St. Joe’s and live at the home for one year before being placed with a family. St. Joe’s becomes an extended family for many residents and it is not uncommon for a child to say, “For the first time, I feel safe.”

Our program serves children from infancy to 21 years old who are currently placed in Kentucky’s foster care system. The St. Joe’s foster care and adoption team recruits and trains families from the community to become foster parents while also providing 24/7 support to meet the various needs of our families. We continue to facilitate one of the largest number of adoptions of any private child caring agency in Kentucky.
Child Development Center
Child Development Center
St. Joe’s boasts one of the best Child Development Center (CDC) preschool programs in the city by offering quality child care to the Louisville community. Standards-based curriculum and an excellent teacher to student ratio are all benefits of this amazing program. The CDC also features an in-house enrichment program for 2-5 year olds (music, movement, science and art), including Minds in Motion and a miniature farm-to-table garden experience.
